Be aware that you do not want to go far enough when you apply toothpaste to the teeth. It may be alright with you, but not my dog. I am not an animal lover. I clean my dog’s mouth by hand, then by the veterinarian for a dental check. Make sure my dog is comfortable before you apply the toothpaste to the teeth. If you think you have used toothpaste too far, you may want to leave it to put for the time it takes to become completely dry.

Teeth cleaning is a daily chore for me. I am lucky I have someone who is very understanding and works with me every week. Dogs, unfortunately, are not too tolerant. There are times I have to clean their teeth myself. My husband is always at my side, so I do not have to see the damage done by my tools. This is something I tend to dread.
We try to get up and groom our dogs with a brush, but sometimes they are dirty from eating the night before. We have found an excellent tool for this task. It is a brush designed to remove dirt and plaque from dogs’ teeth for a single brushing. I like to think that it is kind of like the toothbrush they use on humans. They are just for dogs.
